Description

Pistachio Kataifi Chocolate Bars combine layers of rich milk and dark chocolate, toasted kataifi pastry, and a luscious pistachio-tahini filling. Topped with pistachios and chocolate shavings, these bars are an indulgent Middle Eastern-inspired dessert.

    • 150g milk chocolate
    • 150g dark chocolate
  • Kataifi Layer:
    • 1 cup kataifi pastry (shredded phyllo dough)
    • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • Filling:
    • 1/4 cup tahini
    • 1/2 cup pistachio cream
    • 2 tbsp powdered sugar (optional, to taste)
  • Garnish:
    • 2 tbsp chopped pistachios
    • 2 tbsp chocolate shavings (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Kataifi Pastry:
    • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
    • Toss the kataifi pastry with melted butter until evenly coated.
    • Spread it out on a baking tray and bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden and crispy. Let it cool completely.
  • Prepare the Filling:
    • In a bowl, mix pistachio cream, tahini, and powdered sugar until smooth. Adjust sweetness as desired.
  • Melt the Chocolate:
    • Melt the milk and dark chocolate together using a double boiler or microwave in short intervals, stirring frequently.
  • Assemble the Bars:
    • Line a small rectangular mold or pan with parchment paper.
    • Pour a thin layer of melted chocolate into the mold and spread evenly. Chill in the refrigerator for 5 minutes to set slightly.
    • Spread a layer of the pistachio-tahini filling over the chocolate.
    • Add a layer of the toasted kataifi pastry, pressing it down gently.
    • Pour the remaining melted chocolate over the top, ensuring it fully covers the layers. Tap the mold to release air bubbles.
  • Garnish and Set:
    • Sprinkle chopped pistachios and chocolate shavings over the top.
    • Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until fully set.
  • Serve:
    • Carefully remove the chocolate bar from the mold and slice into individual bars.
