  • 1 ½ cups (170g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup (50g) pepperoni slices (or your choice of toppings)
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

For the Egg Wash:

  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions

Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and sugar.
  2. Add cubed butter and use a pastry cutter or fingers to blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Gradually add ice water, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Divide into two discs, wrap in plastic, and chill for 30 minutes.

Assemble the Pizza Pie:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish.
  2. Roll out one dough disc and fit it into the prepared pie dish.
  3. Spread pizza sauce evenly over the bottom crust.
  4. Layer with mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, pepperoni, oregano, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Roll out the second dough disc and place it over the filling. Trim and crimp the edges to seal.

Bake the Pizza Pie:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk egg and water to make the egg wash. Brush over the top crust.
