- 1 ½ cups (170g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ cup (50g) pepperoni slices (or your choice of toppings)
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
For the Egg Wash:
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp water
Instructions
Prepare the Crust:
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and sugar.
- Add cubed butter and use a pastry cutter or fingers to blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add ice water, mixing until a dough forms.
- Divide into two discs, wrap in plastic, and chill for 30 minutes.
Assemble the Pizza Pie:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish.
- Roll out one dough disc and fit it into the prepared pie dish.
- Spread pizza sauce evenly over the bottom crust.
- Layer with mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, pepperoni, oregano, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes.
- Roll out the second dough disc and place it over the filling. Trim and crimp the edges to seal.
Bake the Pizza Pie:
- In a small bowl, whisk egg and water to make the egg wash. Brush over the top crust.
